Fasting and prayer the cure for unbelief.

You have read the story of the lunatic boy, if not see Matt. 17: 14-21

Fasting is a Biblical doctrine and has done wonders when combined with prayer.

Fasting means to abstain from food, which caused the fall of man, it is the humbling of the soul before God, chastening of the soul, and crucifying the appetites and denying them so as to give entire time to prayer.

Fasting done right is not a planned event, meaning you don’t stuff your face first and then start your fast!

All believers are supposed to fast but it is not regulated nor does not have set rules for it.

If you are going to fast don’t be like the hypocrites!

Mat_6:16  Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

You can also try UNITED prayers, but 1 rule I use is be specific in what you ask for, and once again follow Jesus’ tried and proven method.

You don’t have to go to church to pray, your closet will do just fine!

Mat 6:5  And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mat 6:6  But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Mat 6:7  But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Mat 6:8  Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
