Jesus Christ WAS NOT born on December 25th!

That’s what the Roman Catholic Church teaches, not the Bible!

Luke was clear in giving specific details on how to calculate the exact date of Jesus’ birthday!

In the first chapter of Luke’s Gospel he starts with the history of John the Baptist’s birth story.

The average New Testament reader will read the story and then move on to chapter 2 which tells the story of Jesus’ birthday, but by not knowing the Old Testament one could in no way try to pin point Jesus’ birthday!

Luke was specific in putting in 1 word, the keyword actually in solving once and for all Jesus’ birthday!

That keyword was: “ABIA” or the Hebrew “Abijah”

Luk 1:5  There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

To make a long story short, the priest’s duties were divided into 24 courses and they would serve twice a year on the days their courses fell on.

Zachariahs’ was in the course of Abia, which was the 8th course, and John was conceived shortly after Zacharias had completed his temple service. (Read the first chapter of Luke for the full story.)

Therefore John was conceived in the month of Sivan and was born in the month of Nisan, the 15th of Nisan to be specific, on Passover.

The Jews knew that Elijah was to come before the Messiah, and to this day they still set a seat for Him during the Passover Seder!

Luk 1:15  For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

Luk 1:16  And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

Luk 1:17  And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

John the Baptist was not the original Elijah, but was given the same measure of the Holy Spirit that Elijah had, He was filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother’s womb, so I guess abortion is then considered murder!

John the Baptist was born on Passover, and 30 years later after having his wild honey covered locust cake started his ministry on Passover fulfilling the prophecy below.

Isa 40:3  The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Even John the Baptist all admitted that it was John the Baptist who was the crying guy in the wilderness.

Mat_3:3  For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Mar_1:3  The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Luk_3:4  As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Joh_1:23  He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

Jesus (The Lord) appeared shortly afterwards (6 months later)

Now about the date of Jesus’ birth!

Jesus was conceived six months after John making Jesus date of the 25th of Kislev, the day of Chanukah, the Festival of lights as His date of conception. Remember Jesus is the Light of the world!

Finally Jesus was born on the 15th day of the 7th month, Tishri, the first day of the Feast of Sukkot!

On the eight day Jesus was circumcised, Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah.

On that day the Jewish people complete their annual cycle of Torah reading and start at the very beginning again, In Genesis.

The feast of Sukkot is the last feast of the Jewish year.

It was on that day that Jesus promised the Holy Spirit in fullness.

Joh 7:37  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

Joh 7:38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Joh 7:39  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

It is the only Jewish holiday that the nations will be required to keep during the Millennium.

Jesus was transfigured during the holiday.

It is the only holiday that men are commended to keep with joy!

So stop with the Pagan tradition, and leave the 25th of December for that fat jolly guy, and instead celebrate Jesus’ birthday every Sukkot holiday, and most of all share the Gospel of Christ every day, and not just on certain days of the year!
