What up with this Mystery?
Eph 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
Eph 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
The word “mystery” comes from the Greek mustērion.
A mystery is a secret previously hidden but now made clear so that no mystery remains for anyone who will accept the truth as revealed.
A simple example of a mystery is reading an Agatha Christie (who was a mystery writer) novel.
If you do not read the book to the end, then you will never know who did it!
That is the problem with Jewish people; they will not understand the mystery simply because they have not read the whole Bible!
They are 27 books short (The New Testament) of understanding the mystery!
So what is this mystery that Paul is speaking of?
If you have not figured it out yet, it is the CHURCH!
Mystery solved!
Christ first mentioned it in the verse below!
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
More on the verse above in a separate note! (coming soon)
Christ clearly stated the mystery is given unto you, but not unto them (The Jews)
Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Mat 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Mat 13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2Co 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
But fear not! They too will fully understand this mystery in the end!
