You Didn't Choose Him, He Chose You!

If at some point in your life you decided to become a Christian, no matter what the reason was, I have some big news for you!

You were not responsible for making that decision!

As a matter of fact, many of the decisions that you made in your life, including your choice of friends, the job you've had for years, the personal tragedies you went through, were all planned out in advance!  Every little detail, with nothing left out!

Let's look at what the Bible has to say about that;

Ephesians 1:4-5
Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

John 6:44
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

John 15:16
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

Deuteronomy 14:2
For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

For the most part, we live out our lives thinking that we are in total control of our lives, every moment of every day.  When tragedy strikes, we often blame ourselves for making bad decisions, and most often spend the rest of our lives regretting those decisions, whether we took action on them or not.  This causes people to be depressed, have nightmares, and in some cases end their lives because they can no longer handle living with the guilty feeling of the bad decisions they "thought" made.

When you decide to become a born-again Christian, you are simply accepting what God had already planned out for you from the creation of the world!  That means, you can safely let God do the thinking and planning for your life, and you can give your mind the much needed break it deserves for overthinking, causing you unnecessary stress and pain!

Think about that for a minute...let that thought sink in.

You were chosen by God before you were born, to live the life you have, the good and the bad.
Everything you lived through, was to eventually prepare you for something great!

It may not happen overnight, but your purpose in life will eventually come to pass, and it will all happen without you having to plan or do anything about getting to where God wants you to be, for his grand plan for humanity and for the rest of your life!

If you still need some convincing that you are not in control of your life and the decisions that you make, take a look at these news articles and see what scientists have to say about this very important truth!

Looking back at Deuteronomy 14:2, it clearly implies that those who God has called AND chosen to be His own, have their destiny with Him, and no matter what they do or say, or what happens to them in their lives, they BELONG to Him.  Body, soul and spirit!

Although these chosen people live in this world, in which the majority believe they are in control of their lives, God's chosen people are basically on auto-pilot! God is in the driver's seat in every moment in their lives!  If there a ride to be taken on in life, this would be it!

If you know someone who loves God and his Word, it might be a good idea to stay close to them, and if you ever get that call to become a Christian, you'd be wise not to turn it down.

For better or for worse, God has big plans for His people, and you surely should not miss out, especially if you've been given an invitation to become a part of his Royal Family!

Stay blessed!
